first heard badu when my cousin brought back a promo compalation tape from L.A .Badu had no video,no airplay,nuthin...there was a song on the comp. called on and on,that was it i was hooked,the tape had other artist hip-hop,r&b,but something about her stuck out.for months we jammed on that song w/no visual of erykah...then one nite(oh shit i sound like the beginning of gza)..shit was LATE,the beat comes on t.v,a girl in a headwrap with a video looking like the color purple!! oh shit thats her??!! been down with her ass ever since...i think the thing that fucks with everybody about her is her honesty,i mean she cusses on her shit,you aint gunna catch people doin that,except maybe larryn or jill...oh yeah i try to get as much live material as possible..lemme know if you got any shows....peice
